Invisalign – Sponsored Post

My teeth are probably the one thing I receive the most compliments on. It’s probably because I’m usually talking or cackling laughing and they are right in your face plus a few years ago I had them improved with Invisalign treatment.

I’ve have always thought that nice, white teeth is one of the best ways to look healthy and youthful and a genuine smile instantly makes you more attractive and approachable.

My Invisalign treatment

Growing Up

Growing up, my teeth were slightly overcrowded. Sure they were strong and white but the front teeth overlapped a little and the bottom row was crooked. I was always self-conscious about them and usually had a tight, little smile to keep them covered. One person even commented that I always looked like I was sucking on a lemon. Nice!

My Invisalign Experience

About 8 years ago I decided to look into doing something about them. I didn’t want traditional braces and I was thinking of porcelain veneers but once reading about them I changed my mind pretty quickly. My dentist mentioned Invisalign treatment. I had no idea what it was but when I looked into it I was very excited. It was exactly what I was looking for, something that didn’t jeopardise the health of my own teeth, was virtually invisible and, even better, was removable. I could still go to corporate events and not have to worry about wearing braces. Perfect!

After a consultation with my Orthodontist, they took moulds and created amazing online before and after images. There was no way I could resist after seeing them! It took about 7 months of switching my trays every two weeks and I ended up with the teeth I had always wanted. Reviewing Invisalign

Now my daughters are at the age where I’m looking into teeth options for them. They had plates as their teeth were growing in but in the near future, they might need a little more work. Hands down Invisalign treatment is my number one choice for them too. They love the idea and are particularly excited that they can just remove their tray for selfies with friends. Perfect for the modern teen!

HoMedics Radiance Microdermabrasion Review and Giveaway RRP $249

I’ve had a few professional Microdermabrasion treatments and I have always loved the results. But I have to be realistic and this isn’t something my budget can extend to at the moment. Basically, the only form of Microdermabrasion I could afford was rubbing salt on my face and then holding my Dyson on it. Not ideal!

So you can imagine how quick I was to agree to review the HoMedics Radiance Microdermabrasion. I love their products, I love a little pampering and I love taking care of my skin.

What is Microdermabrasion?

It is a non-chemical and non-surgical procedure to rejuvenate the skin by powerful mechanical exfoliation. It works by removing the uppermost layer of dry, dead skin cells to reveal fresher skin. It encourages production of a new skin cells with higher levels of collagen and elastin, which will improve your skin’s appearance.

The diamond tip exfoliates the skin and the gentle vacuum massages and removes the dead cells. There are 5 settings and I’m currently using the gentlest setting to give my skin time to adjust. I’ve been using it on my face, neck, décolletage and the back of my hands. You look red immediately afterwards, but this fades quickly.

It only take a few minutes a couple of times a week to start seeing the results. At only $249 this is a complete bargain!

HoMedics Newa Review and Giveaway valued at $499

I’m 42 years old and I’m willing to try all sorts of things to help me look ok. Potions, ointments, chants, super foods, whatever. I don’t need to look 20 years old, I just want to look like a well-rested, happy 40+er. So, it wasn’t hard to convince to me do a HoMedics Newa Review …. in fact I almost begged for the opportunity.

HoMedics Newa Review

For the past few weeks I have been trialling the HoMedics Newa Skin Rejuvenation system. The device has electrodes that heat up and transmit thermal energy into the deep layers of the skin and help remodel collagen, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and improve your skin tone. It does sounds pretty awesome!

But, you must commit 24 minutes a day at least 5 times a week for a month and then you can cut down to twice a week. I was a little worried about the time commitment, but I was so curious about the product and prepared to find the time.

I was happy to force myself to sit on the lounge, with my dogs beside me and watching TV. Plus half the time I convinced my children to brush and braid my hair at the same time. It was heaven. I was made to slow down and chill for almost 30mins.

I love that I can do this myself at home, multi tasking between cooking and washing if I really need to.

Even over a short period of time, I did feel my skin tone had improved, especially around my jawline and the laughter lines on my cheeks have lessened. I avoided the eye area and this is the area I would most like to find a solution but I’m looking forward to putting in a few more weeks and checking the results then.

I did take before and after photos but didn’t demonstrate accurately what I feel.

Now a quick demonstration on how easy it is to use …

HoMedics Newa Review Giveaway valued at $499

Now if that isn’t enough! I have one HoMedics News Skin Rejuvenation System (includes unit + gel) valued at $499 to giveaway.

Quinny Yezz Buggy Review & Giveaway RRP $499

You know how I have my finger on the pulse of all things cool…well I do! While I was at the Brisbane Pregnancy & Baby Expo as part of Blog Power Events, I came across the Quinny Yezz buggy. I was so impressed with the easy of use, mobility and brightness, I immediately arranged to host a give away.

And guess what…here it is!!

Quinny Yezz Buggy Review

It’s been quite a few years since I have needed a stroller. This was was extremely easy to put together and a dream to up and down. It’s products like this that make me clucky. Gorgeous, simple and smart products. To demonstrate the simplicity, I engaged the assistance of a 10yo with no stroller experience.

This buggy is perfect for a busy family. It is a great traveller, because it’s sturdy but folds up small and light (5kg) to fit into a plane overhead cabin. It has a shoulder strap to keep your hands free and make it easy to carry. This buggy is great for ages 6 months – 17 kg but it doesn’t allow the baby to lie flat.

It comes in 5 gorgeous colours. I picked the yellow because it’s like the Queensland sunshine and yellow is the happiest colour ever. I think it’s physically impossible for a baby to cry when it’s surrounded by yellow. I’m fairly certain there are tests out there that prove it.

If you would like to know more details. You can check it out here.

Wine time thanks to Redballoon Marketplace {Sponsored}

I certainly don’t mind a crisp glass of wine with family and friends over Christmas but I’m stuck in a wine rut. I always go for a bottle of NZ Sauvignon Blanc and one that I already know is nice.

I recently received a wine delivery from RedBalloon Marketplace and it made me very popular, very quickly. It was fun breaking out of my boring box and trying some new varieties. What a great Christmas present for someone (me)! A wine subscription! They do have lots of other subscriptions, experiences and price ranges, but this one suits me perfectly.

Wine is sunlight held together with water- Redballoon Marketplace

I did not know that Reislings are a dry wine! Seriously, how did I get this so wrong? The wines were all excellent but the standout for me was the Adelaide Hills Pinot Grigio. This was amazing! I think I need more of this one.

4 Things you should hunt down

I’ve had fun discovering a few things you should hunt down. I have only found 4 things this week. I should have tried harder but I’ll blame it on school holidays.

Free Willow T-shirt

Here are 4 Things you should hunt down

1 & 2 OPI Nail Envy and Nail & Cuticle Replenishing Oil

My nails are completely ruined thanks to all my vigorous Spring cleaning. Those chemicals are not friends to my finger nails but they sure make my house look and smell nice. I know I could buy gentler, chemical free products or wear gloves but I like what I like and I’m too lazy to put gloves on. Any woo, my nails are peeling, chipping and need some urgent love and att2 OPI Nail Envy and Nail & Cuticle Replenishing Oil

I discovered this OPI nail envy (approx. $35). It’s a nail strengthener and it really seems to work. I have invested in many strengtheners over the years and I’m usually left disappointed and with flaky nails. But wait, there is more!! OPI had it in a pack with a complimentary Nail & Cuticle replenishing oil. These are perfect together. I have been using both for a week and my nails are looking so much healthier.

3 Chanel Rouge Allure Lip Gloss ‘Controversy’

I have a rule I refuse to break. If I receive a Myer voucher, I must buy a Chanel Lip Gloss. This week I had a voucher, I put blinkers on and walked straight to the Chanel counter, drench myself in Chanel No.5 and then started playing with Lip glosses. I have a few and wanted something different. This is one of their new glosses and it was a bit of a risk. It’s quite dark and vampy. When I first put it on I looked like I had been drinking red wine but I blended it a little with my finger and it looked great but it also made my teeth look amazingly white.

4 Free Willow T-Shirt with Bazaar magazine

How cute is this T-shirt? It’s one size fits all. I don’t agree but it still has a little room. I wish they had a few different styles because I would snap them all up.

Having Coffee with Mr Merlo

Yesterday I had one of those very cool moments. Dean Merlo, Mr Coffee himself, made me a coffee.

As a complete coffee freak this was very, very cool. Not only does he make the best coffee, he is also really nice and charming. What a great morning!

Merlo launched their new coffee, SHAKERATO.  This coffee comes direct from expresso bars in Milan, Rome & Portofino and is a sweet but powerful chilled, milk coffee. The perfect coffee for a warm, summer afternoon….or dessert….or breakfast….or….anytime.

I think even non-coffee drinkers are going to love this.

Benefit Brow Bar

This week I managed to hit the new Chermside Brow bar. I have been dying to try a Benefit Brow Bar but had been too lazy to go out of my way to do it. I was so excited when I heard they were opening up nearby. So I grab my photographer (sister), our daughters and had a girly day out. The ladies at Benefit are so lovely, charming and were awesome with our 3 little girls.

Getting my muppet on

Getting my muppet on

I like my brows to look quite natural and not too ‘done’. They knew exactly what I meant and we talked through each stage to ensure I got what I wanted. My sister even got in on the action and she never lets anyone touch her brows (I think that might have something to do with me tinting them for her as a teenager).

I’ll definitely be going back.

Catalina Geo BB cream with a vibrating applicator

Obviously, I’m talking about the applicator that applies the Catalina Geo BB cream. It looks and feels delicious.

A big thanks to Kimba from Kimbalikes for running the competition that led me to winning this cute prize.

Product Review: Image Skincare

In August I attended the Beauty expo in Sydney. There were hundred of stands and thousands of products. I stumbled across an Image Skincare stand. I’d never heard of them before and they were offering free facials. I couldn’t resist for three reasons. It’s a facial, I am a product whore and I needed to get off my tired, sore feet.

I immediately loved these products on a very shallow level. They smelled amazing and felt gorgeous. But smelling and feeling good isn’t enough. DO THEY WORK?

Let’s get real here. I am almost 40 years old. I have suffered from pimples and blackheads all my life. Pregnancy blessed me with lovely hyper-pigmentation and now I have wrinkles to add to the mix.

My skin looked great after the facial. I bought a small trial pack and within a week I was contacting them to purchase more. Still, one week isn’t enough to know if they really work but it’s long enough to know that they are working at a low level and my skin was reacting in a positive way

4 Months Later
I have had another two level 1 peels. My skin is smoother than it has ever been and my pigmentation is definitely fading. My love of these products had deepened. I am planning a few level 2 peels before my 40th as a present to myself. I am really excited to see the results.

What I like

  • My home care range includes only 6 products. I love that I don’t need to buy 25 products to achieve results at home
  • I also find them well priced compared to other high end products.
  • They work at a cellular level
  • They are Paraben free, animal cruelty free, environmentally friendly, no chemicals preservatives or artificial fragrances

I am thrilled that my local beauty salon fell in love with Image too. This is very convenient. If you would like to check them out for yourself, contact Beautiful You and tell them I sent you 😉

This is not a sponsored post but an honest review of some gorgeous products.

I’ve been lashed and I love it!

In preparation of Blogopolis this weekend (yes I am mentioning it again) I dropped into Lash Me at North Lakes for a brow shape n’ tint and some eyelash extensions. I know this seems a little over the top for a convention, but I had been hearing about their new Cheveux Eyelash extensions and this seemed like a great time to give them a whirl.

What makes these extensions different is that that are made from human hair. I know this sounds a little Buffalo Bill (from Silence of the Lambs) but I have only heard great things. They are cruelty free, lightweight, finer than mink or acrylic and have a consistent curl.

My technician was magic fingers Michelle. She is so light fingered, gentle and is a complete perfectionist. I love that. There was not one unruly brow hair that went unplucked or one stubby lash that went unattended.

This is my before. I am kind of surprised how sparse my lashes and brows are looking in the photo.
After, I only have a little eyeliner on. I can not wait to see how these babies look with some liquid eyeliner and shadow.
I love that Katrina at Lash Me is always on the lookout for the latest and best products in her field. I think she really knocked it out of the park with these. She has now opened up salons in Noosa, Melbourne and Sydney.

I received the product to review but I did not receive any payment to review it. I am happy to receive payment but I will always give an honest opinion.

The B.B. Bandwagon

Everyone is talking about BB creams. So, of course, I have to jump on the band wagon and check them out.

I have chosen three to play with, Missha M Perfect Cover B.B. Cream in No. 23, Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector in Medium and Olay Complete Care Touch of Foundation Even Complexion in medium. These names are all ridiculously long so I am going to call them Missha, Garnier and Olay.

Here I am all clean and fresh as a wilted daisy.

Missha costs about $15 (guessing here) and I bought in on ebay. This is very, very thick and a little clay like. It smells strongly of sunscreen but it does cover those imperfections. I wanted to rip my face off after 30 minutes, so this is not a great one for me.

I bought the Garnier on sale at Woolies for about $10. This is very sheer and shiny. I feel like I look a little dirty when I first put it on, then I stopped noticing. This would be the sheerest of the three.

I picked up the Olay when I was grocery shopping yesterday. It had 30% off which made it about $10. When I put it on, it was like coming home. I think I may have even groaned as I applied it. I really like the feel of it on my skin and it has a matter finish than the others.
Today is Easter Sunday and we are heading off to Imbil for a picnic with my In-laws. The winner of the BB/tinted moisturisers for this outing was…………………………

The Olay by a landslide. This will be my go to for casual day wear. It only has 15 SPF but looks, feels and smells the best.

Do you have a dribbling problem?

As you know, I am a big supporter of local businesses and you can’t get more local than around the corner from me in Scarborough. A lovely local lady, cuts, makes, packages and sells Bibska Bibs. These are for babies and are so very cute. She sent me over a Bibska Dribble bib to look at. Why didn’t I know about these when my oldest was a baby? She was covered in dribble for the first three years of her life.

I love that these bibs look cool and can blend or match an outfit. Plus, (sorry Belinda you might want to turn away for a minute) my dog looked super cute in it too.

You should go on line to look at the complete range, they are so cute. It makes me want another baby just to dress them up.

I think I might need a sequin red one when I head into town with the girls on Saturday. Sometimes my drinks miss my mouth and this might be handy.

I have not receive any payment to review this item.

Fantastic Giveaway – TK’s Lashes

I am excited.  I previously wrote about TK’s Lashes for a guest post on The Best Beauty Blog (This is one of my favourite bloggers, check her out). TK’s Lashes enjoyed the article and were kind enough to send me a set of the TK’s Lashes Eyelash Extension kit for one lucky reader RRP $84.95.  To register your interest in winning this great product all you need to do is:

  1. “Like” TK’s Lashes on facebook – you can do that here;
  2. “Like” Redcliffe Style on facebook – you can do that here;
  3. Comment about why you would like this product – either below or on facebook; and
  4. Make sure you do this prior to 6am on 21 February 2012.

This is a copy of what I wrote for The Best Beauty Blog.

“…I am a complete make-up minx. I can spend hours in make-up departments opening, smelling and trying on every tester. I love the scents, packaging and dreams associated with this department and I am always on the look out for something new and different. This week I hit gold while my 8yo daughter was having her hair cut at a local hair and beauty salon. My 6yo daughter and I slowly slunk over to the shiny, colourful make-up stand. Standing up right, taking centre stage of the stand was a small but powerful black box – TK’s Lashes. The brochure beside this box made promises. Surely, it couldn’t follow through with the promise of making lashes 300% longer. I cannot resist a challenge. I was going to test and scoff at this and I was going to use my innocent little 6 year old as my guinea pig to do it. Feeling like I was participating in an episode of Myth Busters, I opened the black box and inside were two tubes. First you use the larger gel tube to brush onto the lashes. Then you use the smaller tube to brush on the fibres, then set again with the gel brush.  Seriously, UNBELIEVABLE results. My daughter looked like the cutest little drag queen with her lovely, long lashes.

Now, I love mascara and I use it daily. For special occasions I use to get the individual lashes put on. Recently I discovered lash extensions and I love them, but can’t afford to keep them permanently. The TK’s Lashes are something else. They truly do make your lashes look ridiculously long, but still natural and you can wash them off. I think this is a must have in any make-up stash.

You can buy these online at No mess, no fuss, no glue.

I did not receive payment for this product review and this is my honest opinion of the product.  I am not adverse to receiving payment, in fact I would love it but I will always be honest.
